Virtual ACEs | February, Training

LifeWays is excited to start providing training on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).

This extensive training explains the role that adverse childhood experiences (ACE) have on development. Various topics are discussed including, brain development during childhood and adolescence, the impact of childhood adversity, protective factors, and building resiliency.

Meet Your Trainers

Kaitlin Burnham, MA, LPC

Kaitlin Burnham, MA, LPC graduated from the University of Toledo in 2010 with a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy and Clinical Counseling and is a licensed therapist in Ohio and Michigan. She has experience working with children and families as an outpatient clinician, as well as, provided substance abuse treatment to both teens and adults. Working at LifeWays since 2013, Kaitlin has worked as an Access Clinician, completing intake and diagnostic assessments, a Recipient Rights Specialist, conducteding investigations into the legal rights of consumers served, and currently leads as the Clinical Trainer for the LifeWays Training Department, offering an array of trainings topics such as Crisis Intervention, Person-Centered Planning, and Medical Necessity.


Kelly Burnett, LMSW

Kelly Burnett, LMSW, graduated from Spring Arbor University in 2021 and is licensed in the state of Michigan as a master’s level clinical social worker. She has extensive experience as a direct care staff for the geriatric and terminally ill populations, as well as working as a social worker in a medical facility. Since joining LifeWays in 2021, Kelly has gained experience working with children, adults, and families in the Access department completing intake assessments to discuss treatment recommendations and connect them with their treatment preferences. Her current role is in Utilization Management, evaluating the medical necessity, appropriateness, and efficiency of requested care to promote quality, cost-effective care for individuals.
