LifeWays’ Wellness Coaches. Left to Right: Brandon Knapp and Pam Swafford
Hillsdale - Since launching at the Hillsdale location, LifeWays' wellness programs have been making a significant impact on participants' physical and mental well-being. These programs, designed to support whole-person health, have gained momentum, helping individuals integrate fitness, nutrition, and emotional wellness into their daily lives. While LifeWays offers these services at both its locations, the Hillsdale-based program has seen remarkable growth and success since its inception.
The program features initiatives such as Wellness Wednesdays and personalized fitness and wellness training, aimed at fostering sustainable health habits. Karla Moore, a participant in both programs, has experienced tremendous personal success.
“I’ve spent a significant amount of time working on mental and emotional health, but my physical health is equally important,” Karla said. “Since starting the program, I’ve lost 60 pounds, and it has been a huge help in my overall well-being.”
Wellness Wednesdays provide an opportunity for participants to engage in group discussions, share ideas, and gain support from peers.
“I’m a very picky eater,” Karla said. “But being in a class setting helped me find tools to make healthier choices, like adjusting portion sizes and cutting back on sugary drinks.”

Personalized Fitness
LifeWays' personalized fitness and wellness training offers tailored guidance from professionals to meet participants' individual health goals. Pam Swafford, a Wellness Coach at LifeWays, emphasized how the program meets people where they are in their journey.
“We’ve seen participants build confidence, improve their strength, and develop lasting habits. We take into account any physical therapy needs, past injuries, and overall goals to create a sustainable plan that supports whole-body health,” she explained.

A Holistic Approach
Brandon Knapp, a Wellness Coach at LifeWays, highlighted the program's holistic approach.
“What sets our program apart is that we integrate mental health and physical wellness in a way that’s accessible and supportive,” he said. “We’re not just here to help people work out—we’re helping them feel better in every aspect of their lives.”
Karla echoed that sentiment, noting that her progress has extended beyond just physical transformation.
“It’s helped my confidence, and I’ve learned exercises I can do at home to maintain my progress,” she said. “And I haven’t been sick all season, which I credit to the weight loss and fitness routine I’ve built here.”
