LifeWays Crisis Services Now Available on Weekends

LifeWays has been steadily working toward providing 24/7 Crisis Services for the past two years. Once achieved, this service will provide 24/7 in-person care as an alternative to the emergency room for persons having a mental health crisis.

In a major step toward achieving this goal, LifeWays is happy to announce that Crisis Services will now be open on Saturday and Sunday from 7am-7pm; in addition to our existing hours of Monday- Friday 7am-7pm.The entrance for Crisis Services can be found on the west side of the 1200 N. West Ave. building in Jackson, MI under the black awning.

By being open seven days a week, LifeWays Crisis Services can get more individuals into treatment and faster. Before now, anyone in acute crisis on weekends would likely need to visit a hospital for help. That’s a problem because it could delay treatment. Now individuals can come straight to LifeWays for a mental health crisis, avoiding extra time waiting at the hospital.

LifeWays Crisis Services includes several evaluation rooms where those who enter can be evaluated. Based upon this evaluation, Crisis Services staff will then determine what program is best for that individual, these programs include: The crisis stabilization area where people can spend up to 23 hours and a five-bed crisis residential unit where people can spend up to 14 days.

For help in a mental health crisis you can call us 24/7 at 1 (800) 284-8288 or come into LifeWays Crisis Services from 7am-7pm seven days a week.
