LifeWays’ reduced service offering in response to Governor’s Stay Home, Stay Safe order

Jackson, MI - Given Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s Stay Home, Stay Safe order (EO 2020-21), LifeWays Community Mental Health will move to a more restricted service array. This order takes effect on March 24, 2020 at 12:01 am and continues through April 13, 2020 at 11:59 pm. Consumers with previously scheduled essential service appointments will be screened prior to receiving onsite services.

LifeWays will continue to focus significant efforts on sustaining its mission of providing outstanding behavioral health services while ensuring the safety of both consumers and staff. This means LifeWays will only offer the following essential services and utilize telehealth where possible. As always, please continue to use our 24/7 Access Crisis Line at 1 (800) 284-8288 for access to services, telehealth, crisis concerns, and all other questions.

Essential services will occur at both locations:

  • Access/Intake Assessments: To be via telehealth.

  • Crisis Line 1 (800) 284-8288: Continues as usual.

  • Crisis R&R: Closed until further notice.

  • Hospital Pre-Screens: To be done telephonically in conjunction with Emergency Department staff.

  • Mobile Crisis Teams: contact the crisis line and you will be connected to a crisis team member for appropriate intervention.

  • Psychiatric Evaluations: Telephone pre-screen to determine the need to be present

  • Medication Reviews: to be conducted via telehealth.

  • Outpatient Therapy: appointments continue as scheduled but will be done telephonically or via video platform.

  • Wellness Activities: Cancelled until further notice. Wellness Coach will contact consumers via telephone to check in.

  • Case Management: appointments continue as scheduled but will be done telephonically or via video platform.

  • Integrated Health Coordination: Will continue care management telephonically.

  • Injection Clinic: Medical Services will continue to provide urgent injections by appointment only.

    • If you need to come into LifeWays for an injection in Jackson, go to the back of the building and enter under the Center for Family Health awning.

    • If you need to come into LifeWays for an injection in Hillsdale, you may enter through the main entrance and a staff person will help you.

    • Genoa Healthcare (1200 N W Ave #500, Jackson, MI 49202) and Segue, Inc. (212 E. Biddle St. Jackson, MI 49203 and 3200 W. Carleton Rd. Hillsdale, MI 49242) are backups for injections.

COVID-19 is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), reported illnesses have ranged from mild symptoms to severe illness and death for confirmed cases.                                                                       

We sincerely appreciate your flexibility during this time to help us ensure the health and safety of all the consumers as well as LifeWays staff. During infectious disease outbreaks, our mental health is often affected. Amid such an outbreak, you should monitor your own physical and mental health.
