What Is telehealth?

Telehealth is the delivery of health care using technology. During the Coronavirus pandemic, LifeWays will offer telehealth services via Microsoft Teams, a videoconferencing platform. Other platforms such as the telephone, Skype and FaceTime may also be an option. Microsoft Teams and Skype require an email address and access to the Internet. You do not have to be great with technology; we will help you figure out which option works best for you and help you get set up! All we will need is your consent for LifeWays to provide telehealth services.

LifeWays’ reduced service offering in response to Governor’s Stay Home, Stay Safe order

Given Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s Stay Home, Stay Safe order (EO 2020-21), LifeWays Community Mental Health will move to a more restricted service array. This order takes effect on March 24, 2020 at 12:01 am and continues through April 13, 2020 at 11:59 pm. Consumers with previously scheduled essential service appointments will be screened prior to receiving onsite services.

LifeWays will continue to focus significant efforts on sustaining its mission of providing outstanding behavioral health services while ensuring the safety of both consumers and staff. This means LifeWays will only offer the following essential services and utilize telehealth where possible. As always, please continue to use our 24/7 Access Crisis Line at 1 (800) 284-8288 for access to services, telehealth, crisis concerns, and all other questions.

LifeWays' Coronavirus COVID-19 Response

To help control the spread of Coronavirus, LifeWays Community Mental Health will screen everyone outside the building prior to entrance. Screening will attempt to identify: cough, fever, sore throat, shortness of breath, contact with anyone sick, and any recent travel. We ask that you stay in the car for the screening, which helps limit potential exposure to the virus. The screening station is located at the main entrance.

LifeWays to provide only essential services due to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) beginning March 17, 2020

Essential services will occur at both locations: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday

Medical Services will continue to provide injections and post-hospital services. Genoa Healthcare (1200 N W Ave #500, Jackson, MI 49202) and Segue, Inc. (212 E. Biddle St. Jackson, MI 49203 and 3200 W. Carleton Rd. Hillsdale, MI 49242) are backups for injections.

Crisis Residential and the Respite Center will remain open.

Medication Delivery, Community Living Supports, and Residential will continue with current plans for balancing necessary face-to-face services with telehealth.

Home-based providers will utilize telehealth whenever possible and use face-to-face services only as a last resort.

Comcast Announces Comprehensive COVID-19 Response to Help Keep Americans Connected to the Internet

On the heels of offering new, low-income Internet Essentials customers two months of free internet and raising the speed of that program’s service to 25/3 Mbps, Comcast today announced additional steps to help ensure people stay connected to the Internet as more schools suspend classes and companies encourage employees to work from home due to the Coronavirus.
