Lessons in Self-Love: The 5 *Self* Love Languages

You’ve probably heard about the 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman, but have you ever thought about them in relation to self-love?

Gary Chapman’s 5 Love Languages help you to discover what your primary love language is, what it means, and how you can use it to better connect with your loved ones. You can take the Love Language Quiz here.

Let’s review these 5 love languages, but make them about *self-love*:

1. Physical Touch
Things that make your body feel refreshed or help you to focus on your physical well-being.
Examples: Massages, Spa Days, Body Movement, Skin Care, Cozy Slippers

2. Acts of Service
Or should we say acts of *self* service? Doing things for yourself or things that are self-serving that make your day a little easier and your life more balanced.
Examples: Therapy, Organizing, Cleaning, Delegating, Scheduling, Planning

3. Receiving Gifts
Do something nice for yourself, buy yourself a gift or spend money on something that will bring you joy.

4. Words of Affirmation
Talk to yourself in a positive way, encourage yourself, and believe in yourself.
Examples: Journaling, Daily Affirmations, Positive Self-Talk, Standing Up for Yourself 

5. Quality Time
Spending time by yourself doing things you enjoy.
Example: Hobbies, Going On a Date with Yourself, Dancing, Listening to Music, Meditation, Working Out, Going for Walks
